I was under the assumption that uncooked beans contain enzyme inhibitors (which make digestion more difficult), and germinating the beans before cooking reduces the effectiveness of these inhibitors.
This article isn't nearly as scientific as I hoped it would be.

I don't find this interesting or cool; it's pretty disgusting and immoral for someone to spend their time 'hacking' weapons and then publishing an article detailing their work.
Why not have the federal government have an actual organization of software developers (with possibly a standards committee) that do it themselves instead of contracting it out to private companies?
Something like a NASA for non-space software development?
The actual socialist/anarchist crowd are going ape shit over it. (For example, Democracy Now! and NSFWCorp, two superb news organizations, are incredibly critical of the Obama administration over this, and many other issues that Obama has been far-right on)
"Weird twitter" is the closest thing I know to "hipster socialist"s, and most that I follow are very critical of the president.
Can you name a "hipster socialist" group that isn't critical of Obama? There are hundreds of Democratic-party affiliated organizations that haven't said a peep about this, but that's because they toe the party line.

Although this is off topic, I'd argue that there are indeed literal slave masters in the United States today, and they are the private prison owners that profit off convict laborers that are forced to work and earn orders of magnitude less wages than minimum wage.
