If you go to the MacBook Pro 13" page (https://www.apple.com/macbook-pro-13/) and click on "See how M1 redefines speed" there are some more numbers for specific use cases (Xcode project build, Final Cut Pro ProRes transcode, etc). The footnotes for these numbers say the tests were done with the maxed-out previous-generation 2-port MacBook Pro:

I think it's a fair comparison, since the new M1 MacBook Pro 13" is a 2-port model that replaces the existing 2-port models, while Apple still sells Intel 4-port models.
Similar situation on the MacBook Air page. The tests are done with the maxed-out previous-generation MacBook Air:

To me, no headphone/earphone experience has ever been better than my AirPods. I have both the normal and Pro versions. They fit magnificently. No cable means nothing ever pulls on my ears, which over time can be painful and irritating. I can listen in bed on my back, on my sides, etc. It's not a big deal to take them out and just stick them in a pocket. And I know people complain about how easy they are to lose, but anecdotally, I have lost wired bluetooth earbuds in the past, but never lost an AirPod since I've gotten my first pair in early 2017.
This would work for maybe 5% of products. This is no way to review the durability of a product, or review how it performs for specific tasks, e.g. swimming shampoo, internal computer component, sleeping mask, etc.
What type of ports are you using that require USB-A on the laptop end? Pretty much every port I know of has a USB-C cable for it, no dongle necessary. Since 2016 I've slowly gotten USB-C-to-Lightning, USB-C-to-micro USB, USB-C-to-HDMI cables, etc. I gave away most of my USB-A to friends.
