Sometimes "no comment" is secret code for "oh, we didn't really think about them yet, because they're a tiny little project within a multi-million dollar company".
Not to rose-colored-glasses it, but:
"Although it’s too early to speak to many of the specifics of your question, we can tell you that our plans call for Supplyframe to remain a separate, standalone unit within Siemens Digital Industries Software under the continued leadership of Supplyframe’s CEO Steve Flagg, who will report directly to Siemens Digital Industries Software’s president and CEO Tony Hemmelgarn. And speaking more broadly, Siemens is committed to keeping the DNA of Supplyframe as an entrepreneurial entity."
There are two uses of the word "network". One of them is about the nodes that are all interconnected -- the people and the communities. That's all basically moved over to Libera.chat.
The other is the physical infrastructure. Actually, most of that has _also_ moved over to Libera, and the new Freenode folks are standing up their own in place. Until this wipe, the silent and very professional migration of equipment from Freenode to Libera has been going on essentially unnoticed, and without drama. That's a credit to the former Freenode, now Libera staff, IMO.
But yeah. When this all began, there were two reasonable hypotheses: that the (now) Libera folks were reactionaries, or that they had valid complaints with the new management. If the former, you would expect a tempest in a teapot, and then things would get back to normal. If the latter, you would expect continuing shitstorm.
