I have had problems with chronic insomnia and tried melatonin — horrible nightmares. So bad I would lay awake in the morning a bit, just stunned at how horrible they were. No thanks.
Also, configurable after a few hours it can ask the password anyway. A trial and being compelled to place your finger on the phone goes way beyond that. Or if they're going to beat you over the head with a metal pile regardless to unlock then the difference between a passcode or your fingerprint becomes meaningless.

Could you think of a less worthless feature to demonstrate with though? The YouTube app is getting so bad (certainly on iOS, I assume with Android too) that it's getting where the website will have a better UX than the native app shortly.
Prepare to be educated. Yes a lot of it is a hack but on half the supported phones CM isn't too much different really. At least the whited00r releases are stable and have consistent feature support over obsolete handsets.
Actually, the data is encrypted firstly with a per-device key that is unique to the phone and unable to be accessed directly (unless you want to go decapping chips), then additionally with a hash of your pin or password. A copy of the data is useless unless you can get to it in an already unlocked state. An erase firstly deletes the encryption key entirely then begins a secure erase in the background.
Have I done something weird to my Mac? 10.7.5 Lion here, when I press the power button it comes up unchecked by default.
