Interesting results as always, but on the salary side I find it really hard to believe that on the executive level (C suite/VP) the median annual salary is just 6k bigger than that of engineering managers. I'd imagine not a lot of executives respond to this survey so that probably skews the results.
I was looking for a similar type of game, focused on resource management, but for engineering specifically.
Something like you need to invest a certain amount of time into new features, tech debt clearing, hiring, etc.. and then get hit with various issues that you need to react to (star employee quits, data breach happened, sales oversold something, ...). The goal would be to survive as a product on the market.
+1 for this one, I am also a happy user. I needed to send it back after a week of use which was annoying, but after they fixed it it's pretty much perfect.
I did significant research into the sleep trackers before deciding and the bottom line I found out is that anything on your wrist/fingers etc. Just can't accurately tell which sleep phases you're actually in and the offsets are huge, check the user reviews and research, they were comparing all the trackers against a proper sleep lab.
So I decided for dreem2 and have been extremely happy, especially with the deep sleep stimulation functionality, since I didn't buy it because I'd have any sort of sleep issues.
For me, the killer feature in a journal is that it sends me reminders of what I was doing 1 month/year/etc ago.
I was willing to pay for that feature in the app I use. Maybe it can be useful for your planning.
This sounds pretty similar to some of the things Dr. Valter Longo has been mentioning in his book the longevity diet where a part of it are also occasional 5 day fasts with 800 calories, that (supposedly) have great benefits. Great to see this being tested with the general public.
It's not evident from the short article, but was this a one time payment or monthly allowance? I would imagine that one time or non regular payment would work better than monthly so people don't start to rely on it too much and become lazy.
