As a former AAA dev, this is spot on. At the end of the day, games are a business. Margins are not attractive and competition is fierce as the barrier to game development has lowered with Steam: both are downward pressures on wages.

After entering games with naive expectations of the wild west of the 90s, I would recommend other programmers not enter the AAA space, if compensation and job security are concerns. Indie game development looks like great fun, but don't expect any low-latency programming.

Even more interestingly, Anthropic isn't traditionally structured: it's a Long-Term Benefit Trust [1]. That's not say shares can't be sold, but, rather, shareholders have very little governance rights. Debatable whether this is good, e.g. Meta's success being tied to Zuck's large holdings. On the other hand, you have WeWork.

In terms of immediate impacts to global financial markets, it depends on the extent to which institutions were exposed to structured credit products that depend on Evergrande's solvency.

I'm not terribly familiar with US oversight into structured finance, but I'm all ears.
