Cloudflare is junk. Their entire billion dollar service can't distinguish my (DAILY) GET request to mainstream news sites from bot traffic, nothing they say or do is of any value. I've had the same IP for decades.
This is sort of hilarious if you think about it. The Firefox browser is completely written in Rust. Now Ladybird is a "human-directed ai" Rust browser. Makes you wonder how much of the code the two browsers will share going forward given llm assisted autocompletes will pull from the same Rust Browser dataset.
My wife was complaining about her Windows 11 laptop crashing. I tried everything and even did fresh installs. Still crashing (and honestly pretty slow). I gave up on Windows and installed Ubuntu and Chromium for her. She can instagram, facebook, save her memes, and its all fast. No crashes. She's a happy camper now. I think a lot of (even) non technical people would like Linux a lot more than they realize if they gave it a shot.
man fuck canada and the usa. how are we the only ones in the world to not care about safety. even if its a 0.5% chance 150+ people die, isn't that enough to warrant temporarily grounding a handful of planes. sigh common
I recently discovered I score very low on VVIQ. Vividness of Visual Imagery Questionnaire. I don't have full on Aphantasia. But listening to how for other people reading a book is like watching a movie in their heads blows my mind. Being able to imagine with any level of depth sounds pretty amazing. As a kid I never really played pretend or was into fiction. But I'm curious that possibly long form reading is on the decline is associated with lower abilities to imagine in the general public?

Try implementing a genetic learning algorithm to send and reply to your work emails. For the fitness score try using your yearly salary in dollars. I haven't yet implemented this, but theoretically there's no upper bounds to how much money this will earn you.
I'm curious about the direction react redux will take with the new hook api. What will the react redux hooks will look like? Will that be something that lands soon in an alpha?
TCL is fun to write. And with Tk desktop apps are fast and easy to whip up. Kicks Atoms Ass for internal apps and doesn't eat all your ram. I don't get why its gets so much flack. It's sort of a fun mix between lisp and perl. I hope it never dies.

Uber has some fucking shitty programmers guaranteed. They murdered this lady. Think about it:
Smart cars basically have 360 degrees of sensors. There’s no way it didn’t detect that lady coming up on the car and the fact that it kills her says to me there was no counter measure. It probably didn’t even slow down until the moment of impact. That's some fucking elementary school shit.
> Chance of Collision? 100%. Maintain Speed
In structural engineering if you designed a bridge poorly and it collapsed killing people you'd lose your ability to practice engineering. The same should be applied.
man fuck articles like this. I was diagnosed with ADHD in elementary. school was extremely difficult for me and I even flunked grade 2, but was pushed onto the next grade after my parents complained. My parents didn't believe in giving me the meds. I graduated high school with honors, but it took hours and hours of study because I was never able to focus. Then I started university... I was completely overwhelmed and dropped out. We've built a society where its a detriment not to be able to focus, denying your children a level playing field is absolutely cruel.
I reread it several times trying to understand how simply using GraphQL allowed you to eliminate the need for all actions / stores for your entire client side stack. It wasn't until I looked into Apollo that I understood what you had actually implemented.
TL;DR click bait. The author is replacing Redux with Apollo - a client side graphql library that HAS BUILT IN STATE MANAGEMENT, which he fails to differentiate or mention... Apollo is similar to the firebase event / subscription model.
as a long time user of `find . -name "*.foo" -exec grep -Hin {} \;` moving to ack has been great! I love the syntax and the speed and the fact that it actually respects your ignore files. ripgrep is great too. ag on the other hand is recommended by everyone but doesn't seem to respect ignores or understand modern ignore syntax. give it a pass.
