Was an interesting journey to developing this. We kept getting demands for blurring but didn't implement it for a long time because we knew blurring wasn't secure. We implemented masking via black rectangles, but kept getting requests for blurring. Was great to finally land on this solution.
Like the explanation a lot. Even when you've understood redux, and want to use, the amount of upfront boilerplate can be a turn off. I liked this approach of parsing out the boilerplate piece by piece.
Hi, I'm also from SEL. In addition to some of our work (which is generally about shared solar), some interesting companies that are thinking about (and providing their own solutions to) the financing question are http://www.selco-india.com/ and http://simpanetworks.com/ Not endorsing their work necessarily, but worth a look at, for someone interested in this stuff.

We are a university lab under The Earth Institute at Columbia University. We build open source software to help development in various countries in the world with a kick of technology.
Currently we are involved in a data collection / analysis project in Nigeria, an infrastructure planning project for Myanmar and remote islands in Indonesia, building an Android app for rural nurses in India, and similar projects. Our stacks includes but not limited to python, javascript, mongo and postgres (depending on the job), and we are always looking forward for new technology.
We are looking for hackers who are passionate about making stuff that helps the world suck less. If you are interested in hacking with us, traveling to the developing world, please go to the aforementioned github job repo to contact us.
