Interestingly enough, most providers still run PON, but all their equipment, including splitters, is at the telco's end of the P2P connection. Apparently it is slightly cheaper to build out a PoP like that.

Neither the article nor the linked application explain how confer maintains privacy. As much as I'd like to see something like this, I'm still a bit skeptical as long as they can't explain how the technology at the heart of their product works.

One place where I genuinely believe LLMs could be beneficial is correcting spellign mistakes. I just don't think the interface is there yet. I want to keep control over my writing. After feeding it through an LLM, it doesn't sound like me anymore and changes random stuff. Rather, i'd like something like a diff viewer that shows you your sentence and the LLM's corrected sentence right next to each other. You can review each suggestion individually and decide whether to incorporate it yourself.

As one of the guys who develops a EVE Online service: While you were able to get by with manual install steps that perhaps change with the OS, for a decent number of people it is the first time they do anything on the CLI on a unixoid system. Docker reduces the support workload in our help channels drastically because it is easier to get going.

Having metadata with the error doesn't exclude having a separate diagnostics system. You don't have to use errors with metadata.
