Intresting

That's extremely fast for a 55lb max weight, would need a consumer grade long range fpv to even safely pilot this and a very large field.

Can you buy jet propulsion off the shelf?

I think giving away Gemma may be telling on the direction they wanna go long term.

Winning doesn't have to mean making the most money I hope. Maybe winning is paying homage to the years of organizing everyone's data and giving it back in the form of a highly optimized completely free capable model? Or am I too naive. Give a highly optimized code forge I can run on local affordable hardware and you will win in my eyes.

Giving away Gemma was the first time I thought google may have a heart after all. Or am I too naive.

Very cool. I thought the agent came in a little to hot at 1:03. I wonder how it decides when to jump in.

I have replaced software that costs a pretty penny per month.

This was possible since opus 4.6... Im probably an outlier though and I don't actually think the practice is very widespread.

These pills are like low level meth. I was prescribed stimulants at a young age...it's like a lifelong commitment. You're a potato without them and completely useless once you become dependent.

I am so grateful to not be on any of these medications anymore. But it was one of the hardest years of my life getting off them. It took me a good 18 months to feel like a human again and feel productive.

They are totally addictive, and doctors should take lots of care and caution when prescribing these things... especially in developing children.

Just my two cents.

>Operation Sea-Spray was a 1950 U.S. Navy secret biological warfare experiment in which Serratia marcescens and Bacillus globigii bacteria were sprayed over the San Francisco Bay Area in California in order to determine how vulnerable a city like San Francisco would be to a bioweapon attack. There has been speculation that the experiment may have contributed to one death and at least ten illnesses.

Wow.

Are there any species you know of that would be able to interbred with each other? Why would that have been possible?

Sounds like humans to me, perhaps ones who could live longer?

Look, I think we know how these discussions go, I'm not sure they get anywhere. Your pretty sure you know what's going on, I'm pretty sure I know what's going on...

Id hope there would be caution in manipulating the formation of a human when there isn't a great way to test these things without observing the results after they are born without any significant confidence what was manipulated effected the outcome or had a desirable result. There is no world where this real world testing is not reckless.

Lots of breakthroughs in medicine happen without editing genes? And why do you think Im opposed to the scientific method based on this view point that maybe experimenting on human embryos is not a great way to learn stuff?

For example, what happens when we get to the point where we need to use the scientific method to test if the gene editing was successful and didn't cause negative outcomes for the child's entire existence perhaps? Will they need to live their whole life for us to confirm the cure worked?

>So do all sexually reproducing species’ conception create souls?

No, what is your opinion?

>Or is it just a blessed few?

Specifically humans.

>What about asexually reproducing species?

They have life that's for sure but I think it's very different than humans.

I think it's more of the fact that they were conceived which will bother most.

A sperm on its own was never going to be a person. A egg on its own was never going to be a person.

A embryo... we cause the sparks to fly here and it's disturbing to think we can poke at the genes when we really have no idea what we are doing. Was a soul created here? Lot of people think yes. So lots of people naturally care about that taking place. Just to poke and prod 1 of billions of base pairs to see what happens does not seem like a good idea or..even a practical way to learn anything.

I would bargain there are a lot more pairs you could mess with that would have the same effect and would prevent the embryo from developing further.

I lean that we most likely are creating souls (however that works...) the moment of conception and we probably should be fooling around with doing this stuff. This article reminded me of this video I saw 10 years ago that shows there is a moment in time where sparks literally fly and it's pretty amazing to see.

>The only difference I see is the idea that there's no expectation of privacy while driving on public roads.

Isn't there some level of expectation if for your whole life these mass networks didn't exist and you could go to the grocery store without being locked in database prison?

Show dead and you see 23 posts about this exact same thing which gives me pause and makes me wonder, did this guy really post this 23 times?

Why? Or is there some program setup on a loop?

Either way,a legit Linux shell in a browser would be kinda powerful and even if this one isn't legit, Im intrested in adjacent projects...for instance this may be the only way to get a shell in a usable shell on iphone which would be neat and useful

I've been down this rabbit hole.

I tried to make a codebook of everything. You can get surprisingly good compression by assigning words and phrases to numbers.

My particular attempt had phrases up to 12 words.

No grammar or anything...to test the program, when I had a random thought, I tested to see if I could encode that thought. I could and on average the thought/message was compressed by 2. There was very few times where I wasent able to encode the idea into the available building blocks or language model of the database.

I don't know if I totally get behind the anaology. LLMs aren't a dependable runtime tool like a screwdriver is...but could you make a more efficient screwdriver with a LLM?

I think so.
