Perhaps OP means that the term itself is confusing and emotionally laden. It was popularized by liars baselessly accusing the mainstream media that their stories were made up.
Does "fake news" refer to news stories that are complete made up? Contain mistakes? Or that are true but that you simply don't like?
Or does "fake news" refer to the act of baselessly accusing a reasonably researched story that in fact is probably accurate?
Those terms are orthogonal. Embedded typically refers to running on some HW that is not typically thought of as a computer. Embedded SW can run within an OS or on bare metal.
I didn't mean to suggest that there shouldn't be the option to freely chose alternative treatment options under a free market model, in cases where you're not happy with what a single payer model would cover.
Rather my point was that when you need urgent or critical medical care there should be a baseline assurance of a solution to your predicament as you may not be in a position to shop around.
Your analogy with restaurants is not a good one, since you are unlikely to be in a situation where you're about to starve to death, and the only restaurant in town has 3 Michelin stars, grocery stores don't exist, and passers-by are not qualified to give you food :)
I don't think Trump (or anyone, really) would have had much impact on China's internal politics during that period, and opening up is very much an internal matter. It's generally hard at this point to see external pressures (small as they are) having much impact at all.
I don't deny that Trump has potentially enabled Xi to make some moves faster and bolder. But those moves would likely have happened anyway and on the bright side it's maybe easier for the world to see what's going with the lies being so obvious nowadays.
It seems to me that failure and a real reversal of the course China was on started from 2012 when Xi got power, so yes. Could have happened anyways of course but the change was drastic and clear from that point on.
