I fired up DK in mame after the King of Kong documentary came out and ended up playing quite a lot as I recalled as a kid having a very difficult time getting anywhere in the game. It was fairly satisfying getting through all the main stages for the first time.

I have been using Firefox for years (decades) and I rarely encounter a page or site that doesn't work... a handful perhaps, but it's a complete non-issue for me. If anything, my ad-blocker can sometimes cause issues and I'll disable that and everything is good again.

If you spent decades doing selective breeding to obtain a more desirable product, you'd probably be a bit annoyed if others just stole the product from you and made money off of your hard work.

If the products are being bred from tax funded programs, then yes, anybody should have access to the new breeds, but if it's privately funded, then why should it be available for everyone? Without the protection, there isn't much incentive to invest time into developing better foods.

They're all looking the same now. The AI version of bootstrap.

Most gems in Ruby/Rails projects come from rubygems, so if they were published long ago, any exploits should have already been found hopefully. Any old gems that would attempt to release a new compromised version would now get a created_at timestamp and the cooldown applies.

Unless you can compromise the gem server to overwrite created_at fields, I don't see any exploits here.

Private gem servers are either already trusted (if they're your own) or already under some scrutiny and extra care already being taken (ideally), but this last case applies to very few projects I'm sure.

It's been behind a flag for ages. Maybe because of performance issues?

Where did they say they used AI for this?

I will not buy coffee at Costco. I've had Costco coffee beans and it's terrible. I only buy premium beans at specialty shops and always will. The masses can drink their subpar coffee from Costco if they wish.

Canada reduced theirs to 6.1% from 100% about a month ago.

It's mentioned explicitly in the article:

"Elections Alberta salts the electors’ lists with the names of fake voters, so if one copy of a list is leaked, the agency can trace its origins. An analysis determined the list came from the Republican Party of Alberta, headed by Cam Davies, who, like Parker, has a well-documented history in Alberta as a political operative who pushes boundaries."

You could have bought bored apes (and any of the other scammy NFTs) and ended up losing your shirt in the end. Overall, who cares if you miss the boat on something, it's not good for the mind to dwell on it.

You simply can't get hung up on what could have been. Same applies to trying to time the stock market... should have bought, should have sold. Best thing is to know there's nothing that can be done about the past and move along and deal with what you can do now instead.

Almost anybody who grew up with video games in the 80s played Sokoban and knows exactly what that refers to. It was THE puzzle game in the early days of video games... that and maybe millipede.

I'm in Canada and have been a Deezer subscriber for almost 2 decades now. Their premium subscription is well worth the money - I pay less than $90 for the year. They also have one of the highest track counts available compared to other streaming services (according to google).

And sometimes the maintainer simply doesn't respond to a perfectly acceptable issue due to either the maintainer abandoning the project, not enough maintainers or simple neglect.

The use of epsilon is correct here. It's exactly what I was taught in comp sci over 20 years ago. You can call it's use here an "epsilon-delta".

I've been using gitosis to manage private repos for almost 2 decades now. It's extremely easy to host your own repositories.

I just looked up gitosis on github though and it was last updated 12 years ago.... still works for me though.

Overall, hosting your own repos is very easy.

I'm a native English speaker who's very exposed to French, but doesn't speak it, I find the use of accents in French very welcome to getting the pronunciation right when exposed to a new word. English is just a mess in comparison and I wish it had made use of accents as well to avoid a lot of the ambiguities in pronunciation. Perhaps some of the old English letters that are no longer in use helped a bit, but I'm not familiar enough with those to know if it used to be better.
