There are more post on social media about the breach now. There was no interaction with Amazon.com at all, I tried to login Amazon.com minutes after receiving these two emails. The result shows the account does not exist on Amazon.com anymore. Again, didn't click any link, it just happened.

I really doubt it. The way password managed and password used on this Amazon account is HackerNews approved.

Since the landing page required everyone interested to enter a keyword to search, the back-end server can record all query and ip-addrs.

I doubt if WikiLeaks.org use this exact same method to study what document attract traffic|attention. WikiLeaks' new releases are not signed by PGP anymore, I take that as either a Warrant Canary or some kinds of warning.

Of course, if everything packed in a torrent, then there's no way to conduct such a study.

Just few things happened recently related to data on cloud.

1> Google deleted People's account who bought Pixel from reseller. They have to beg google to restore their data, contacts. Not going to happened if you have it in your own cloud.

2> Windows 10 is full of telemetry. Imagine someone knows exactly what software you used, when you used it, for how long. Advertisement are built-in with system level. You don't own your machine anymore, Windows 10 can decide when it want to upgrade itself then lock you out from using it for hours. Your data now is in Microsoft's cloud, but you don't decide how they can use it, who they are going to sell to.

For depository reason? Sure of course, cloud is reliable on up time, expandable with a few click. But if Cloud provider decided to wipe the account with whatever reason, what you are going to do?

I have seen RC helicopter powered by 2-stroke gasoline engine. I wonder why there isn't any Drone use that engine, it basically provide more fly time, more lift power and short "charge" hours.

Anyone like this comment but don't like|want|willing to deal with command line in windows, I recommand SyncTrayzor[0].

From My understanding, SyncTrayzor is the GUI version for SyncThing with MIT license[1].

I started the warrior VM after seen this message.

1>how do you handle cellphones?

I found there is few option that you can have LTE network without giving up your identity.

It is always so obvious when you have similar experiences(founders, maybe):

  #0:I left my job to work on my side projects.

Never quit your real job unless you gained traction from your project.

  #1: the project does not motivate me any more.

I had exactly the same problem from my previous startup. Later I found out it is because of long hours work without enough exercises.

From my experiences, you need to prepared to explain your project/company with 2 sentences at most. Otherwise you will get lost during the development, also your project is probably too complicated.

I really concerned about ownership of everything today.

Recent events such as Nest from Google, a company can decide to shutdown your device. Cellphones that don't come with root are the trend. Recent games require player to stay online for completely nothing other than DRM purpose. And by the way, how can someone in Tesla just downgrade people's car because he got root?

This is just the beginning of kill switch. Big companies just field testing how tolerate customers are nowadays. Once the new become the norm, you don't know what comes next.

You can transfer money with wechat.

Wechat has a eco system that links to your checking account. Therefore, you can pay your bills: Taxi, fresh fruit from street, pre-order movie seat while you are on the way. I had an two weeks no-wallet-challenge last year in china. The 3rd day I gave up, not because it doesn't work, but it sounds like documentary about surfing internet nonstop for 24 back to Y2K years.
