While the history of computers is fascinating, it's not true that one needed punch cards or a terminal to add two numbers in the 1970s.

Mechanical calculators had existed since the 1800's and electronic ones came around in the 1960's.

I lost interest when it started with nonsense. Paywall doesn't help, either.
