With or without capitalism, a good scientist will produce good research, and a bad scientist will produce bad research. But in order for a good scientist to produce bad research, that requires profit-at-all-costs capitalism.

This article shows we can't expect universities and journals to police themselves,they have a massive conflict of interest in protecting their own reputations.
