Rail will always be more efficient since you don't have to carry the load. I think places that never built passenger rail (Alberta has been toying with Edmonton to Calgary since they've existed) this will wipe out the need for them.
Huh? Sudden events are a very real part of larger processes like evolution and climate change. A volcano eruption, a meteor impact, or a drought year, or the ceasing of a current can absolutely have massive implications on larger systems.

I just purchased software for our company and they had both ISO 27001 and SOC 2 which made it way easier to deal with our security and governance team. They like to see those certifications. It would be possible without, but the scrutiny would be much higher.
