Didn't the Pippin prototype case (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=viGqjKACKQg) went that way?

How long until they add a 21+ category to this bill, though? Insofar the use of it would be for gambling and CA doesn't even have mobile sports betting.

I read a FUD somewhere about Cinavia (the sound-muting DRM) being implemented on OS level by implementing it on SGX enclave level. That obviously didn't happen, but imagine if TPM was used for that too (or similar DRM).

I feel traditional "rust" hard disks would be inefficient for AI use. Unless they include SSDs (which I feel these data centers are more likely to be using) in the definition as well...

They are doing this pre-emptively since it will be the global law trend sooner or later.

>not due to legislative pressures

It's a pre-emptive move against any (potential) legislative pressures.

>users can always move to other platforms (problem #1)

Until the cycle restarts again with new platforms.

Also, I am convinced self-hosting or getting a new platform (including return to traditional forums) to run might as well be bureaucratically harder at this point, given the case of lfgss' shutdown: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42433044

Some platforms also now suspend you if they find out you were registering before turning 13 (or minimum age).

>because they sniff the nearby WIFI networks and then ask Google where they are

Even with airplane mode on (that disables GPS, iirc)?

I realized this when I tried to capture the test pattern used by a PowerDVD diagnostics application.

4chan has a rule banning use of proxies/VPNs and enforces this with IP range bans.

This situation here is what I sort of implied when lfgss shut down: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42444354

The ironic thing is that in the UK/imgur case:

>The ICO also confirmed that companies could not avoid accountability by withdrawing their services in the UK.

Wonder if it could also apply to American news sites (and Japan's 5ch/2channel, I was told they engage in this as well).

What I meant is that generative AI makes for the case to strengthen intellectual properties laws.

Hence I said "against".

Outside of Europe, this is also a thing in Japan.

I felt generative AI has weakened the argument against intellectual property.

The original form of clackers had a popularity in Indonesia and Philippines where it's named latto-latto.

There was also a safer revival of clackers in North America in the 90s, where the balls are attached to a handle.

I've keep thinking about it that people who advocate for AI tend to lean - or at least feel like leaning - right. Though that may be because opposition to AI tend to be from progressive/labor-adjacent left-leaning ones, a dichotomy?
