I use Mycroft with the home assistant vm running on Proxmox. I’m surprised how easily they integrate. And when the internet goes out I can locally control things from a laptop.
I had the same issue with other software that, after making a valid attempt to cancel, I ended up shutting off the money from the credit card. That worked.
I have and sometimes use a 1935 Western Electric phone and it's associated "subscriber set" with my Google Voice account. The phone itself is completely unaltered, as is the subscriber set. Just a plug for a typical phone jack.
I once had a teenager say it was "complicated" to use; dial 9 for and outside line and the number.
There are twenty three keys on a steno machine. With only a hundred-word language the current machine would certainly work. But with so few words even the machine could be simplified.
