Recently the Steam client stopped working with old Nvidia cards. So now you can’t start your games anymore even though they technically still work because they have to be started via the client. And you can’t go back to an older, working, client.
People abuse the flagging functionality by flagging submissions that go against their ideology or prejudice. I think it’s part of the current suppress/censor/ban/deplatform/demonetize/unperson zeitgeist.
I’m just using the same language as the Post on X. American hyper sensitivity to certain words is not universal. The point is that driverless taxi companies will eventually have to face reality outside of the relatively safe areas where they currently opeate.
There seems to be an extreme obsession with blocking, banning, censoring, demonetizing, deplatforming, firing, unbanking, un-personing. And this is from people whose opininions already completely dominate mainstream media and all of public life. This is not healthy.
Not to mention huge benefits to the environment, reduced pollution, less traffic congestion leading to increased societal efficiency overall. And we can go on and on.
But it’s obvious corps only like to virtue signal about such things while in reality not caring one iota about them.
Pffft. X is by far the most important social network for people and things that matter. So not your vacation photos on Facebook or some influencer posting semi-nude pics on Instagram. It has only gotten better since Musk made moderation neutral, as opposed to the previous absurdly one-sided suppression of anything that deviates even slightly from ultra-left Liberal Silicon Valley ideology.
Or, we can go back to the wonderful society we had where a mother of young children didn’t have to work, and the husband with a high school education could still buy a nice house and provide for the whole family.
But class warfare and the useful idiot feminists took that away quickly. Instead we get this mother trying to hyper optimize her own life like a robot, to try to solve the systemic issue on a personal level.
Musk saved X from basically being woke North Korea 2.0 where no debate was possible, and he’s waging his own war against government censorship in countries like Brazil and Australia (heroically and at a loss to himself IMO). I don’t think he will capitulate that easily. Musk is bad on some things (labor rights) but on free speech he’s done a lot of good.
I don't get it. X is much, much better now that the insane levels of (one-sided) censorship are gone. There are actually different opinions now. I don't really see any objectionable content - it all depends on who you follow and what posts you like. You can choose to only see posts from people you follow if you prefer. And you can create different lists of users for different topics and only see post from a specific list. It's all up to you. It all feels more vibrant now.
Also, I have seen in other news that engagement has gone up a lot, though perhaps not the number of users.
You identify too much with what you can do, and the need for your work. That is not the core of your being - your soul if you will. Your abilities can disappear at any moment and probably will as you get older.
Perhaps the purpose of this experience is for you to stop clinging to the false God of your usefulness and instead clearly see your true nature and your true relationship with God.
