If you're the kind of person who has bought a dozen pairs of cheap Zenni's... the lens coating gets visibly damaged every time I've used hand soap on them. I now just blast them with hot water and wipe dry with a lens cloth. I don't know whether hand soap is a problem for more expensive brands, but it definitely is for Zenni's.

I (an American) had only heard the slang version in Holy Grail, and didn't know the slang meaning, and finally am now seeing your comment. Now to lookup the meaning of "manky..."

> foreign-made consumer routers can still be sold, but they are going to look at them with a fine-tooth comb, and they are going to use FCC approval as leverage to try to increase domestic manufacturing

That is not what's going to happen. What's going to happen is that anyone coughing up payola to the current executive in chief's people will get approved, and anyone that doesn't will remain blocked. This practice is currently widespread, in the form of tariffs.

In the rural areas that I've lived in, it's mostly about a strong desire to supplant science and history with religious ideas and principles.

I'm looking forward to the AI-generated content, which was modeled from mostly AI-generated content, which was modeled from mostly AI-generated content...

It's going to be shit trees dropping shit apples exposing the next generation of shit seeds into the soil to generate more shit trees. And every reddit or HN or etc account that does not require actual ID verification will actually be AI bots.

In the case of Mullvad, my experience is that something like 5% of websites get pissy about it, and I have to turn it off, or Tor, or whatever else to get around it.
