I use an adblocker and I have for a while now. Every so often I hear a moral argument about why adblockers are bad (ads support free internet, etc) but to be completely honest, I simply don't care anymore. Advertising is in such a malicious state that yes, I'm going to put my own experience quality over whatever collective good there is in watching ads.

I think it's pretty obvious that we refer to more recent times like this, e.g. 2000s, 2010s, 2020s.

It's not really weird. We have rights guaranteed to us in the United States that no other country has, so it makes sense we would not extradite.

As an American who has no desire to visit the UK, is there any particular reason I need to care? The article says it would affect me but they don't have any jurisdiction over me.

His argument seems to revolve around using badly written fake code to say that OOP is bad. The software equivalent of a strawman argument.

That case goes far beyond med error and I don't understand why people keep bringing it up as an example.

She pulled the wrong med, and then injected it and walked out of the room rather than observing for effects. Also the med she pulled had warnings on all sides of the bottle and on the top saying very clearly that it's fatal to administer without ventilation. This went beyond a mistake to negligence.

Amazon was not the first in e-commerce and they "didn't pay taxes" because they reinvested the money rather than taking it as dividends. Amazon won because of their efficiency and customer service. Even today, FedEx usually takes weeks to deliver while Amazon has same day or two day delivery.

Doesn't feel all that bad to me, considering this is the way it already works and I had no interest in becoming a citizen there.

Republicans caused all the problems in a city that they haven't controlled since 2001, in a state they haven't controlled since 1987? That really is incredible! I wonder how they accomplished that.

Why are you bringing up "food insecurity" rather than deaths by starvation which is an objective measure of food shortness, and what the person you replied to is talking about?

It's an American company and Meta is an English term so I don't see how that's relevant to anything. I hate Facebook just as much as anyone else but this story is a nothing burger.
