Paywalls on people's content would work well if they have some type of revenue sharing, but paywalls on entire subreddits would be a disaster.

I just don't have time to learn or care about another social network.

This is great, but a lot of people think it will be a Intuit or H&R Block "killer". It won't. People don't pay for the "expert" tax prep, they pay for the hand holding. I have worked for HRB corporate for years and have seen countless people with simple W2's that happily pay $100+ per year just to have an office to go to, to shake a hand and talk to a person about their past year. As long as there are lonely elderly people, these businesses will always be there.

I can totally relate to these tips. I used to do in-home computer service and I advertised on self made signs all around the city. Got a lot of calls but not a lot of conversions. The minute I put "Business Computer Service" on the signs, I got the same amount of calls and nearly every call was converted into an appointment. And now that they had a reliable computer person, they continued to call. I was able to raise my prices by 40%, hire a few employees, get some funding and eventually sell the business. I'll never forget how adding that one word was liked a magic trick.

I wish this bill was "ban ALL FEES" period. Classifying something as "junk" or "hidden" sounds like a nightmare that plenty of businesses and industries will find way around. Get back to bottom line pricing, taxes included, and watch competition rise while prices fall

This is great news! It's about time! I was so excited to see the instant, crowdsourced traffic news in the Maps app. I was shocked when they didn't integrate right away. I use Waze for most drives but then have to switch to Maps for better business info

Here in the US, our recession is apparent in every day life. Various issues are causing disruptions in our supply-demand balance, which in turn has caused many essential industries and businesses to remain under staffed. Many of the skilled people I know have been unemployed or under-employed for the better part of a year. This imbalance has also caused the prices of goods and services to be inflated, making it difficult for everyone, including the properly employed, to enjoy life without worrying about finances.

I was a huge fan of RSS for a long time but stopped using it. I found that when I added in multiple feeds of my interests, My feed was littered with the same stories and sometimes even the same content. Also, much of the content had the same ads that were on the sites. So at that point, it was easier to just visit the sites with an ad blocker on.

I've always been aware of Aegis, but is there any reason to use this over the built in TOTP tool in a password manager like Bitwarden?

Cool read, thanks. I worked in Mercury and all over the test site for years and miss all that history and stories from the cave dwellers.

If ads, or more ads, are bothering you that much, you're probably using youtube a lot and should subscribe to Youtube Premium. I've cancelled all my subscriptions except this one because it is an amazing value. You wouldn't believe how much better youtube is with no ads. And youtube music is pretty good as well.
