This doesn't take into account UK customs. I recently send a nicely packaged 1Tb drive to my place in tb uk by express mail from San Francisco. The drive arrived in customs two days later, sat there for a week, then they mailed a postcard saying the import duty was 550 GBP. Now we are up to about the third week... Obviously I didn't pay that so the drive went back, taking over two months. Using scp would have been far quicker...
So next time you're considering physical transport include the time spent in the destination country's customs, with their highly incompetent and inefficient crews.
