Then maybe we shouldn't be applying AI to jobs where forgiveness and forgetfulness are useful. We keep trying to completely replace humans in all situations and this is not helpful.

Why is your data stored on their server where they have access to it at any time for any purpose they choose? For that, they should be paying you, no the other way around.

"Voluntary collaboration between government and the private sector to harden systems and accomplish the first two"

Or, bribe the current administration to … enrich the current administration. Literally, the only thing the current administration cares about.

I kind of wish there was a way to flip the script on the companies that gave up on humans and tried to switch to AI. Make them suffer for their idiocy in the same way that workers suffered or continue to suffer.

If that makes me a bad person, fine. If a few CEO's wind up working at 7-11 to make rent money, all the better.

At some point, it's just keeping score. Elon Musk doesn't need to be a trillionaire, he wants to be one. None of the world's billionaires need to be that rich, they are just competing against each other.

> Let the chips fall where they may, should the USA lose after this, at least they got to make their best attempt at it.

Well, that, and a President who interferes where he has no fucking business whatsoever and a governing body who kowtows to that same President.

This is just flat out cheating. But hey, fuck the rules, right? 'Cause our team got to compete.

I hope they got themselves a nice pay raise in the process. Ford will can them again as soon as it can.

I'm always a bit disappointed when something only works in Chrome. It feels like developers don't give a damn about any other browser.

Their PR machine is amazing in how it's conflated criticism of the Israeli government with anti-Semitism, in a country where religion and state are supposed to be separate (not that we're very good at that, mind you). And they've convinced the world that the Holocaust somehow allows them to perpetrate the same crimes against humanity with impunity.

It's incredibly frustration because the only "reasonable" opinion allowed is full-throated support of Israel or else. There's no allowance for nuance.

Paolo from Tokyo (https://www.youtube.com/@PaolofromTOKYO) has a ton of videos about various Japanese businesses, usually focused around the job of one person.

A lot of Texans do. We didn't elect those Texans and if the current legislature has their way, we never will. The Legislature and Governor, et all, are too busy trying to implement the Republic of Gilead, the Old South and the State of Elon combined to think about anything else.

Randy Feltface (Australian puppet comedian) was absolutely blown away by HEB when he came to Texas. Apparently, they have nothing like that in Australia.

Two constants in Texas: HEB and Waffle House.

I would rate their BBQ equal to anything else you'll find in Austin, except maybe Franklin BBQ, which I don't have the patience for, so I haven't tried it nor will I bother.

I notice it says "Try for free" but nowhere accessible is it mentioned what it costs. That smells suspicious.

I've finally started realizing that, while I don't trust AI (or what we're calling AI), what I really don't like or trust are the people behind it. In fact, the whole problem with modern tech is that the people funding it and hyping it are just untrustworthy.

I have less of a problem with Chinese AI than American AI because no one in China is screaming at me to use their AI. No one in China is trying to justify me making sacrifices so their AI can grow. It's like: they don't care if I use their AI or not - it's there, you do you.

Meanwhile, Altman, Bezos, Musk and Zuckerberg (problematic individuals at best) are all over the news proclaiming AI as the Second Coming of Jesus if only I give up water so they can cool their plants, all while yelling "it will all work out if you just trust us!"

Not helping, guys. Not at all.

Also, it's not Intelligent and for the love of God, please stop pretending it is and please stop trying to convince everyone that it is.

It would also help if billionaires like Bezos would stop telling us that AI will solve all our problems if all the normal people make sacrifices so the AI have resources.

I don't see Bezos making any sacrifices.

I wish I could train Claude to end every statement it utters with "YOU MUST CONSTRUCT ADDITION PYLONS".

And have it be permanently embedded.
