The last thing a blatantly dishonest advertisement makes me want to do is learn more about the product. A camera phone ad that uses a DSLR? Really? So if I go to buy a Malibu is the salesman going to have me test drive a Corvette?

What's even worse than that is when people know Apple didn't invent something but still insist that they deserve all of the credit anyway because they "popularized" it. I have seen this argument on a few occasions. wtf?
I don't get how they could possibly have been granted the "click a phone number in browser etc. and make call" patent when it is so painfully obvious. On an integrated device like a smartphone it makes intuitive sense to make any discrete form of data clickable and routed to whatever the most logical application is. It would be like patenting right clicking and downloading an image in a browser on the desktop. Ludicrous.
No company is "just like" every other company. Different personalities, different by-laws, etc. It's the height of cynicism and intellectual laziness to try to stereotype something so complex as a modern mega-corporation.
This has absolutely nothing to do with the issue being discussed. Google could clamp down hard on security if they wanted to and still not reject apps for political reasons like Apple appear to do.

What kind of condescending agist crap is this? How do you know this for a fact? And just how old are these "older people"? I know plenty of people in their 60s with iPhones and Android phones that have dozens of apps they use regularly. What makes the 18-30 year old crowd better than them?

If Samsung didn't want to get sued then they shouldn't have copied Apple. Google sent them an email to that effect so blaming Google is ignoring reality.

That's what I was thinking. I've seen this headline on a few sites in the last few days and the commenters all seem to be talking about Linux in the past tense. Apparently I didn't get the memo because my laptop with Ubuntu on it is still working fine and the projects that I make use of haven't missed a beat. That's some kind of "dead".
