I had the same thing happen to me. I tried running a script for a month without luck (Sydney region). What did work was adding a credit card to upgrade to a paid account - no issues launching an instance, and it's still covered under the free tier.

We've had production outages caused by Microsoft Defender our RHEL boxes :(

Amazing, they've reinvented a taxi.

Not OP, but I do the same for ~7 accounts across 5 institutions. There's no need to contact them since you can manually download the statements, but it's a chore if you're doing it frequently. I usually run my script a few times a week.

Appending /cdn-cgi/trace is also a good tell.

Some years ago, I was working at a small retail store and we built a new site, going live with Stripe in test mode. That one took a few months to notice.

> Jha and White co-founded a company called ProTraf Solutions, which provided anti-DDoS services to Minecraft servers. Nothing wrong with that, of course. But in order to create new customers, the pair started targeting websites with DDoS attacks and then either tried to extort money to call off the attacks or offered services which they claimed could defend the sites.

There's nothing stopping you from signing up in a different market and paying $2 ;)

Probably not, seeing as that's not enough power to charge it up.

Check out some of the RK3588-based SBCs. The Orange Pi 5 Plus is a fantastic alternative to the Raspberry Pi 5 if you're okay with a bit of fiddling as mainline kernel support is still a work in progress.

Calling it a server is not the same as saying server grade hardware.

They seem to come up in the home page deals section quite often for me. I grabbed a couple that were $3.50 a pop, and so far they've behaved exactly like an Airtag (albeit with a worse speaker)

Many components in an iPhone are paired to the logic board from the factory, so if they need to be replaced you have no choice but to go down the Apple sanctioned repair path (although the third party industry goes to great lengths to work around it). Some components, like the display, will show a warning notification in iOS for weeks and disable features like True Tone and auto-brightness if swapped with a third party part. Other components such as the cameras can't even be swapped between 100% genuine iPhones.

The iPhone 6 disabled Touch ID when the home button was replaced but it'd still function fine as a button - until you restored the phone, which would fall over with an arbitrary error code forcing you to take the phone in to Apple for repair. There was a lot of backlash before they caved and fixed the update process: https://www.theguardian.com/money/2016/feb/05/error-53-apple...

The rebate I mentioned is NZ$7,000, bringing the total to USD$37,000. My memory wasn't far off.

That'd be because I don't live in the US.

The one I was looking at when I wrote that comment has (unsurprisingly) sold already, but it was 3 years old, 23k miles, with a small scratch on the bumper for $39k NZD. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/tesla/model-3/listin...

In either case they'll still be spending tens of thousands on a vehicle (and dealing with the depreciation), but I'd imagine the fuel saving calculations pay off a lot quicker for a taxi than they would for most people.

As an aside, locally the Model 3 starts at around $35k USD after rebates. <2 year old used models are around the $23k USD mark. We have a /lot/ of Teslas running around as Ubers now.
