The tweet says blackstone. Thats a separate firm from blackrock. And the tweets misleading in the first place, it's looking at the bottom of a candle which wasn't even the current price at the time of the photograph? And the stock closed at about 154.
Besides all this says is that it matters for blackstone...not for the housing market at large.
We should be approaching the problem from all avenues, so I agree. But this campaign that ordinary people shouldn't arsed to do anything because it won't make a difference is absurd.
I did read it. 19% of global emissions from household power and 17% from mobility (cars and such) is not miniscule, and not agricultural/commercial usage.
I remember reading some studies and IIRC it turned out that overall power usage including energy transfer efficiency and grid leakage for gas stoves and induction was about the same.
One other issue with gas stoves which I believe some California gov agency recently discovered is that even when you're not using them they may contribute to methane gas leakage.
In college I pirated things when I was living off a few hundred bucks a month. But nowadays when I'm making good money I pay for everything. Its frankly absurd to steal content when you're that well paid.
I think you should be able to invest in your IRA however you like, but there really should have been a limit on how much is tax advantaged. Or perhaps just a limit in terms of how large disbursements can be while still being tax advantaged?
My "theory" is that learning a language is like learning any other discipline to a high degree of fluency. If you study a couple hours a week even if you don't forget what you learned in short order it's something which requires a period of immersion for you to be able to recall it as well as the day you learned it. To be able to expound at length on a topic at the drop of a hat you essentially need to dedicate a few hours a day every day. I think languages work the same way.
Psychedelics shouldn't be viewed as palliative. They help you to bring about changes to your self. For some people trips can be very frightening or even traumatizing.
dead battery might have been my fault, I opened up the laptop to take a look at the hinge and may have shorted something...I think I used a screwdriver or metal tool to push in the connections when reassembling
I touch type everything but the function keys, including using shift, alt, and control.
I'm sure the lack of a touchbar is very annoying to people who have taken such a class but I'm skeptical that most people, or even a significant portion of developers, have taken computer typing.
The latter. Maybe it's not that hard to learn but I suppose I've never really felt inclined to try and touch type since hitting the wrong function key can have a higher "cost" than just typing a wrong letter. Bringing up a help dialog, going full screen, developer console, etc.
I was about to disagree before I realized with my Precision 5520 (analogous to XPS 15) the left hinge is broken and my battery is dead, and they both broke after about a year.
I don't know about the battery but the hinge was certainly a problem with the line in general, since it was a flimsy plastic thing unable to hold the weight of the 4k screen it came with...I'd be a bit surprised if that hasn't been fixed in the around 2.5 years since I bought it though.
