I don't know if iHiD will see this, but this is Lane, the founder of Boot.dev. One of our students shared this article with me, and it really sucks to see. Exercism has always been a go to recommendation of mine for students who need additional practice or to learn languages we don't yet teach.

I know you mentioned you don't wanna do ads, which makes sense. But if you're getting 1200 sign ups a day thats worth a lot, and id be happy to chat and see if there's a sponsor opportunity thats uninvasive and that could at least keep you going.

anyhow, you can reach me on Twitter @wagslane or via email: lane @ boot dev.

either way, hope things turn around

Recently I had Carson on my podcast: https://youtu.be/9H5VK9vJ-aw?si=cv4ScxFTnJMRbsSH

He talked about this idea quite a bit, I love the idea of giving backend developers more control over the UI without resorting to huge JS frameworks

Some might. Most would watch TV, hang out with friends/family, scroll TikTok, workout, and play videogames

There are waaaay too many comments here hung up on the border example. This book changed the game for me, I consider myself a much more talented UX/UI designer. I can actually make stuff that doesn't suck now. highly recommend.

I found it clever and I welcome it. The history surrounding slavery isn't a taboo subject, what a ridiculous idea. The commenter in no way is condoning slavery.

Did you even look at the repo? There are many files.

This is potentially exactly what I'm looking for to take Boot.dev to the next level. I'm a bit worried that it's too JS focused, but if I can hack in the other stuff I need with wasm then this gets really exciting. thanks for posting :)

That's because you're looking at the wrong alternatives. check out Hugo

I had to use mithril once and absolutely hated it. Writing my HTML as JavaScript objects? no thanks

I'll shamelessly plug my course: https://boot.dev/learn/learn-golang

You really don't need a framework in Go, and probably shouldn't start with one

I'd be interested to see if you have any feedback for me on Boot.dev. we are really trying to make it fun

This is pretty silly. These drawbacks are well known, and for the vast majority of users WSL 2 IS a huge step forward.

super interesting. I recently started using stable diffusion images for my blog posts on https://blog.boot.dev . I got really sick of all the same unsplash and pexels images.

I love moving domains every so often because changing up tooling and languages is such a great learning experience. Here's a related piece I wrote talking about why I think learners should also be learning multiple programming languages: https://blog.boot.dev/education/learn-multiple-programming-l...

You should add a link to the famous scene about this in Dead Poets Society :)

A native app? What is this 2005? In all seriousness, I can't wait to have fewer and fewer electron apps in the future (hopefully)

Connect is Stripes product that allows you to build marketplaces. I believe this would be how you would pay out your users. e.g. if PayPal used stripe to back their app.
