I've been using ty on some previously untyped codebases at work. It does a good job of being fast and easy to use while catching many issues without being overly draconian.
My teammates who were writing untyped Python previously don't seem to mind it. It's a good addition to the ecosystem!
This is an excellent resource. I'm not a DSP expert, but I work in the field, and this is usually the first resource I go to when I need to re-familiarize myself with some basics.
It's telling that Wolfram / Mathemetica doesn't even come up in a blog post like this, as the inventors of "the notebook". Jupyter took the concept to a whole new level, but the concept did originate in Mathematica 30 years ago!
