I quite like my left wing social policy. It's benefited me greatly and the more desperate even more so. Sure I now pay more tax than I would in the US, but my school was free, my university education was practically free, when I got diagnosed with chronic disease, the process of diagnosis was free and even expedient as it was an emergency.

My friends are allowed to be as queer as they want to be, and those who don't want to see them are free to look away.

Those with mental issues are free from destitution as their employers weren't free to just fire them.

The state should work for the most people to live the most comfortable life possible. We would have the money for it, if it weren't for the trickle down virus that's still infected half our politicians.

And I can't in good conscience judge anyone for coming here, I would do the same and would want to be treated well as well. Not be put in a concentration camp paid for by the EU, or get my dinky shot by Frontex at high sea, just before reaching the border.

But this keeps being spearheaded by Danes, who in recent times aren't particularly pro immigration...

They do. Good luck getting Firefox otherwise, so I don't mind it.

Similarly, they bundle Bing as the Web search in the start menu.

I expect Google to ban the devs eventually. After all the app's sole purpose is breaking the TOS of YouTube.

Thank you for name dropping Morphe btw, I'll use that for as long as it still works.

If you can convince a victim to install an app, you can probably convince them to enable screen overlays, accessibility features etc. Apparently these scams are quite common in South East Asia.

Nevertheless, scammers will just use stolen identities to sign their malware.

This is just a thinly veiled attempt to prevent apps such as ReVanced YouTube or others that ruffle IP holders, such as alphabet.

Even sneakier. If you use an ad block(FF android with Privacy Badger and Block Origin) it'll tell you your connection doesn't support uniq yet. But if you then load the page in chrome without add-ons you can suddenly manage it, despite being on the same connection!

I guess I can't expect an advertising platform to work with adblockers on.

> We were able to watch some of the movements to Venezuela and Iran in advance of hostilities.

These were deliberately visible to show that the US is not messing around this time. A mass evacuation would never advertise in ads-b. But perhaps you could see a drop in activity as hidden planes get priority on the runway?

It does remove money from local economies. The drawdown of the British hurt my regional economy quite a bit.

Perhaps, but consider the existence of the AMD Vega GPU line https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radeon_RX_Vega_series

Yes if someone steals your laptop at the same moment Microsoft bans you you're done. What's the likelyhood of that happening?

done here meaning you've lost your data which uhhh, is currently on a drive in the hands of thieves, so what did you lose again?

Is that last part even still true? When I played around with it they asked me to store a recovery pass phrase off device in case windows hello breaks

> I wonder if the largest software company on the planet (with an operating system in practically every home) can help with making that better. Seems like Apple can, weird.

If you're talking about time machine, windows has had options built in since NT.

Let's be serious for a second and consider what's more useful based on the likelihood of these things actually happening.

You're saying it's likely to happen that a laptop thief also is capable to stealing the recovery key from Microsoft'servers?

So therefore it would be better that users lost all their data if - an update bungles the tpm trust - their laptop dies and they extract the hard drive - they try to install another OS alongside but fuck up the tpm trust along the way - they have to replace a Mainboard - they want to upgrade their pc ?

I know for a fact which has happened to me more often.

You'd have to be quite daft not to. The Bitlocker lock out screen has a qr code and a link telling you to go fetch your recovery key.

The newer amd and Intel systems are also copilot certified. After getting a new laptop last month I can say that it doesn't hurt and has some nice advantages. If you just ignore the stupid names. The NPU means your images can now get indexed by content without ruining your battery life for example, same thing with recall. Without certain hardware requirements there's no way these things could run on device.

Now MS just needs to keep working and refining these features that don't sell copilot subscriptions...

40% might just mean nothing because your core is probably not running at full clock.

There's eu(maybe even EEA?) wide free roaming legally mandated since I think 2017 or so? But it's not a permanent solution, your second paragraph still holds true.

The labor of ass to ttml is there yeah. But the the factors are n_videos * languages * 2 Formats. And considering these are pretty compressible text(34MB->4MB for a completely bonkers sub track that includes animations, animated fonts and otherwise transformed text). I can't imagine that hosting costs cost more than their analysis.
