>Currently, you need just a "cool" intent, preferably with some buzz words (crypto, "green", space..etc) and you are golden.

Alas, t'was ever thus.

Very aptly put.

Why can't people see this happening? The ability for most of humanity to be distracted by "shiny things" never ceases to amaze me.

Faith in humanity restored. I came here to make the very point you so eloquently made.

May I be so bold to enquire which country you live in?

Your position is certainly not the median one in most of Western Europe (though I suspect you're from one of the Scandinavian countries).

> The Dutch simplified the most useful rule in the 17th century: "live and let live", it was codified into (maritime) law.

Would that happen to be the same Dutch that were heavily involved in the slave trade (about the same time you mention)?

> Saying that political thinking, of any stripe, is about power is pretty much a tautology.

I never stated that (you did). I merely pointed out the fact that humans are largely hypocrites and duplicitous by nature. ALL interactions between humans is underpinned by power.

In the past, the power grab was explicit, nowadays said power is sought after behind the veneer of "civility" and "niceness".

It is basic human nature that I'm criticising. The left are just as bad as the right - but at least, with the right - you can see them coming, because they are mostly explicit (at least relative to the left).

The left are just as power hungry as the right, but are very well versed in this "we are nice, caring people" act - this is why I (a seeker of the truth - and nothing but the truth), am enjoying their dirty inner workings coming to light.

Can someone explain to me (controversial, I know - but we've already opened Pandora's box):

If the category "transgender" is legally recognized, why does the category "transracial" come under such virulent attack?

Both (in my view), are manifestations of a disposition that induces a "distortion of reality" alongside a refusal to accept that "one's reality is distorted".

In most (if not all cases) of male to female transitions (which seem to be the most vocal segment of the transgender community) - the human brain is able to instantly recognize the gender of an approaching person - from a considerable distance, regardless of choice of clothing or make up.

Likewise, someone claiming to be of a different "race", say "white" to "yellow", "red" or "black" (or any permutation thereof), is laughably recognizable as an "interloper".

So why is one form of delusion celebrated, whilst another form frowned upon?

Side Note: when talking about race (which is a color based hierarchy, I deliberately assigned racial colors uniformly to everyone, even though I'm aware that some might find it offensive to be referred to by skin color; what is good for the goose, is surely good for the gander. I believe in equality).
