the SafeNetwork seems like the best decentralised project in that respect. the more resources you share with the network (cpu, hard drive space) the more money you earn. that should more than enough incentives for most poeple!
there are a few other things too like only being charged to upload files once vs paying a subscription for the rest of your life, or only needing one password for all sites.
a good argument for switching to signal is that you can also use it to send sms messages, which means you don't have to switch between apps as much or at least lets you cut down on the amount of IM apps you have installed
im using newpipe on android and adding the rss feeds to newsblur so I can watch on desktop. its actually really good since you get away from their suggestions side bar and autoplay (and the UI).
newsblur let's you organise things into subfolders too which is helpful
the other thing in going to start using is youtube-dl to download my watch later videos and then use something like emby or plex to watch them. maybe do the same with videos that I want to keep so I don't have to worry about then disappearing every second day
I use Firefox every now and then just for reading articles so my main browser doesn't get bloated with tabs, but it runs far from fantastic on my computer for some reason.
whenever a page loads all the elements move around for a second or two before they settle in their right place. that would crack me up if I had to put up with that all day
there are other chromium based browsers like vivaldi and brave that might disable a lot of the google crap but i couldn't be certain of the top of my head
I have a vague recollection of someone suggesting small bits of DMT might be released while we sleep and that our dreams are like snack low key trips.
Well dreams are a fairly beneficial things to have especially if you have some epiphany or figure out the solution to a problem you're having.
The near death thing might just be your brain dumping that DMT out of your pineal gland all at once either when your body is shutting down from natural causes or when you are in some kind of traumatic accident.
note station is actually decent enough. there's a web clipper, desktop app, mobile apps, and its pretty much a complete clone of evernote. they even managed to add text highlights before evernote did.
the only thing stopping me from importing everything into it is that there is only 1 export option. they need to add a html option and maybe plaintext
> On Windows it could be in Downloads, Desktop, My Docs
they're all in you're user folder on Windows so wouldn't that be pretty much the same as the root gdrive folder and whatever subfolders you have things organised into?
I'm thinking of switching to syncthing soon, but I would probably recommend resilio to less techy types since it seems like its slightly easier to use, especially if you are paying the subscription fee where you can have all your folders added on new computers
I've been using a trackpoint for a long while now and I was 99% certain they were superior to everything else but i had been hearing a lot of good things about the surface book trackpads and that they were at the same level as apples so I decided to switch for a while.
its been about 4 months of using nothing but a trackpad and even though its really good im fairly certain I'll be sticking with trackpoints from here on out.
one thing that's really starting to bug me lately is the accidental clicks from your palm hitting the edge of the trackpad. I don't know how people manage with those new macbooks with the oversized trackpads
I'm not sure what sensitivity I have it set at but most of the time I'm only moving the tip of my finger maybe half a millimeter at the most. you shouldn't have to press it that hard but it does take a while for most poeple to get the hang of it.
