IIRC, the Anova cooking was originally one guy at the lab devices company that saw the Nomiku or Polyscience and said, "we can do that" and started basically doing this as a side business.
Well, they do have a reputation for deleting sub-reddits they don't like. It would be better, I think, just to come out and say, "we will delete sub-reddits we disagree with."
While I agree that comparing China to California in terms of large scale engineering works is comparing apples to oranges (guess which is which). I disagree (kind of) on the following:

Japan is a mountainous, earthquake prone country, and they seem to have figured it out. The biggest problem geography-wise is probably all the NIMBY complaints. To be fair, they are really loud trains that would kill property values, and the complaints are valid. I think thats where a lot of those lawsuits are coming from.

What I would prefer is cellular connectivity in an iPad. Throw it in the backpack to use when I want a screen, but use watch/wireless headphones while walking around, or talking on the phone.
As soon as you tie a persons bonus money to it, it isn't. You are no longer looking at the highest quality candidates, but the ones that match the minimal qualities. And since race/gender has no impact on performance (my asumption), this is a bad key.
But, as someone that can check the minority checkbox, woo!
I like having all my subscriptions in the same place so I can easily see what I'm paying and cancel.
