Asha Sharma is managing the Xbox team like a hotel. Cut costs and boost profits. It works in the short run, but this is surely no way to run innovative game studios. Hopefully spinning these talented folks out will result in gaming innovation outside of Microsoft, because the vision inside Microsoft sure looks bleak.

So how many emigrants stay in Germany?

High memory prices are killing the PC gamer market. Sad to see Micron kill their Crucial consumer brand in favor of a complete focus on B2B.

Speckx, Every downturn frees up talent that leads to the next generation of startups. If your finances can handle risk working for a startup or bootstrapping your own go for it. If you need a job now be sure to circle your connections to get better leverage on the inside track for closing those job interviews. Often times they already have a lead candidate the job was specifically written for. See if you have friends and old bosses that would do the same. I hope when you land where you are going you'll write an update.

Retail is dead. Until crime and realistic lease rents are tackled I don't see it reviving. I do think there is a market for a store that sells new and used toys that uses customer service and local ownership to help their community. Similar to how some book stores have managed to survive. The key is to keep their costs low and to be small owner who is invested in their community.

Facebook used to be known for their benefits & perks. Now it is known as San Quentin. I hope their top talent leaves in droves.

Bending Spoons did the same thing with Evernote. Laid off US staff. Closed their Redwood City offices and hired a dev team in Italy to take over.

Scary how quickly the US is falling off the map as a global destination. Banning folks from democratic stable countries like Costa Rica, Belize, Brazil, Uruguay & Mongolia serves no purpose.
