I'm curious if you've looked into N-Glycolylneuraminic acid and whether that could be the issue? Does chicken cause an issue for you?
I'm sorry to hear about your Lupus diagnosis, and glad it's in remission. My doctor wanted to diagnose me with Lupus due to the facial rash and arthritis/joint pain, but I came back negative in all the bloodwork, which I think means about 98% sure don't have it. I found that I can treat the joint pain effectively with SSRIs (Fluoxetine, 20 mg is enough to wipe it out after a few weeks). My mother has MCAS and my sister and aunt have UC, so I feel like I'm tripping through a minefield trying to navigate whatever autoimmune issue this is....and I have a PhD in biochemistry.

A gaussian blur is not a good test. It does not technically remove all the information from the image. As such this test can't distinguish between unblur or actual moon-pasting.
Binning the image, or cropping it in Fourier space, would be a better test.
Really sorry to see all the negativity. I use Matrix every day and don't get most of what people are complaining about.
For some reason lots of HN threads on it seem to hate it irrationally, despite Matrix by far and away being the most advanced protocol and implementation in its space.
I love Matrix and use it every day on a self-hosted server. But it took me at least 3-4 attempts before I got the setup working in Docker (at the time, the Docker documentation was substantially behind).
Once I got it working, some aspects are still pretty janky/I don't understand them. (Generating a homeserver.yaml file was a nightmare, hosting on one domain but addressing at another (chat.foo.bar but with [email protected] as my user).
Getting federation working was another nightmare. Hours upon hours of trying to debug why it wasn't working, what ports weren't communicating properly, etc.
Trying to get jitsi working and/or a TURN server has also been impossible to the point where I've given up.
In fairness, I'm not a super tech savvy user - I've taken one programming class in my life, and at the time, was hosting everything off of an MSI Cubi.
