I think the Opinion might be onto something. Reddit is a particularly conforming model of social media. The karma and the community moderation creates incentives to play by the rules.
But, the latter two points aren't really about Reddit or training data at all. They're about model alignment and social epistemology. Much broader issues. It just feels disjointed.
While I agree with everyone else making fun of the alarmist narrative, I think it is actually somewhat interesting how big a difference between models there are.
