"left wing bigots" is a wild take. In fact, it's beyond the pale.
Just so you know however, it is well established that we had a very large native population before European settlers arrived, and it's well established that smallpox killed a lot of people. The research here demonstrates that the numbers may be even higher than previously thought.

Yeah, we had every playstation since the original, and a vast library of games. Admittedly I ended up with a digital PS5 (gift), so I ended up in the digital ecosystem. This will hurry me up into buying a disc drive for it I suppose.
I tend to agree about the lackluster AAA industry, but I don't think that's the gamers 'fault' for wanting indie games, more private equity and the share market environment forcing developers to generate slop as opposed to good titles. It's a sad way that the broader economy is going in that regard.
It's no big issue for me one way or another to have a car with the technology from factory, and I do like having the wireless connectivity - music from the phone etc is really nice - but visual maps and visual UI add no value to me personally.
The setup I have for my project car is ideal for me - a small bluetooth receiving amplifier that feeds the speakers directly. It's all hidden behind the dash, has no visible UI, but I get in the car and the phone takes over, it's in a cradle and becomes the head unit.
I never need to see a map on screen (Maybe because I grew up doing orienteering, or can just listen to the verbal directions, I'm not sure) so that doesn't bother me. And siri can handle hands-off interaction with the device when needed.
I did upgrade the head unit in my family/daily car to support carplay etc, but the primary motivator there was finding a unit that could support a reversing camera. It certainly made the interior feel more modern, but again I don't think it adds much value to me personally.
All of these "tech titans" are psychiatric cases, and all seem to be heavy drug addicts. In any other industry they'd be fired and probably put behind bars for their behaivour.
But for some reason these guys are literally trying to rewrite society at a fundamental level and everyone is cool with it.
I miss old, grass-roots youtube. I used to be a 'youtuber' back in the very very early days where it was just a case of sharing yourself doing dumb things.
I completely get that it's your job now... But the fact it's become a job for people is probably why I don't like it so much anymore. With all the ads and such too, it's now just television. But worse.
There's a woman on Instagram who's documenting her process of building a deep mine/tunnel under her house, and shows the various form work and construction methods she's using, quarrying skills she's picking up, etc etc. Absolutely fascinating use of free will.
Basically every smart fridge they make has an equivalent (nearly identical) non-smart variant. You don't need a smart fridge, you don't need a screen on a fridge at all.
As an aside, my old Westinghouse fridge shows me ads. The ads arrive in my mailbox and then I put them on the fridge with a magnet. One of the ads on my fridge at the moment is for Dominos.
> Based on my manifestations being chemically-induced, wonder if that's also valid in general.
Interesting observation. I only drink on one day of my weekends these days, so I don't think mine would be correlated to alcohol. But sugar maybe? It's an interesting thought that it might be related to some kind of metabolic process that's influencing that feeling.
Yeah I have a similar issue to you. If I look at my phone screen for a few minutes on the bus, I feel like I'm going to vomit. In fact most days that I commute on the bus I feel dreadful the entire way.
Strap me into my race car on the weekend and pull G's in the corners... no problems at all.
Sit me back on the bus, I want to throw up.
The dots on the iPhone do help a little bit. I wouldn't say it cures me, but I can at least check messages on the ride without immediately feeling like death.
