Why do people associate 4chan with not having moderation? It's always had moderators ("jannies"), and they are a common target of disdain.

/g/ is far more entertaining than HN.

Yeah, surprised no one is mentioning this. (A)RC is awesome... for flushing caches. :-(

DC vs. Heller settled the meaning of the term in regards to Constitutional law. There's also a long history of "well-regulated" meaning well-equipped, in proper working order, etc. in English going back hundreds of years.

A quick search found this list of examples: https://www.learnaboutguns.com/2019/08/11/the-meaning-of-wel...

(linking to that site rather than its source since the source is sending a bad SSL cert)

There are other writings by the Founding Fathers from the time of the ratification of the US Constitution reiterating the need of a right for people to own arms in case it's necessary to overthrow the government, specifically including the government they had just created.

Escape From Tarkov but with a streamlined interface so you spend more time inside raids than outside of them (see: Fortnite, Hunt: Showdown). Also, it must have a killcam available after the raid finishes so new players can learn positioning and you can more accurately report hackers.

There are a bunch more mitigations that can be disabled than he disables in the article. I usually refer to https://make-linux-fast-again.com/

`enc` doesn't support and will never support _any_ authenticated ciphers. Consider it a red flag when you see it in the future.

>E.g. many European banks do this for "US persons" - they simply cannot get accounts because the legal risks are just too high.

It's not legal risks, it's the cost of compliance.

That is quite amusing! I think the hardest word I've found for Koreans and Japanese to say is "parallel".

Close, it's "soriddo" (ソリッド).

English loan words in Japanese are so fascinating to me. Here's an example: "limited slip differential" -> リミテッド・スリップ・デフ (rimiteddo surippu defu)

(The ・ is used to separate foreign words/names when a Japanese speaker would not be able to figure it out)

This must be how Romance-language speakers feel when they see their words modified and incorporated into English.

If you want to learn the Katakana syllabary, try this website I found recently: http://katakana.training

There's also http://hiragana.training for the other syllabary.
