Nope. I'm out. I might still use the API, but the monthly subscription is already gone and I'm on to Claude.

Is it prohibitively larger? And is the size a fundamental constraint of the technology, or is it possible to reduce the size?

Hey - this is awesome. I've been working on a small local app like this to import financial data and present a dashboard, for the family to use together (wife and I). So yeah - great work here, taking control of your data.

I'm curious about real-time data, or cron jobs, though. I love the idea of importing my data into this, but it would be nicer if I could set it up to automatically poll for new data somehow. Does Timelineize do something like that? I didn't see on the page.

I wonder if it's actually overloaded or if there's a bug.

It's so you don't have to look at them to use them while driving. Screens offer no tactile feedback that guides you, you have to look, which is dangerous.

I agree with your view on political rhetoric, however, that doesn't mean these things aren't issues of national security.

Having access to the fastest chips is a matter of national security, at least for the US. The AI race (even if it's just faster NN processing) has massive implications for modern warfare and national security.

I tend to lean towards this thinking as well.

There are many people in this thread and others across the internet and media who are talking about the conflict of interest. However, there's little showing what potentially bad things she is doing.

Yellen has lots of experience with the regulatory and finance institutions and their inner workings. For sharing her perspectives on how things work, what pressures they face, and how best to engage with them, she should be paid quite well. That's what these Citadel talks look like, at least until someone can connect the dots better than they have been connected.

For example, what nefarious plot is there? What regulator capture is she engaging in? Somewhere else in the thread someone mentioned car import issues with Reagan; where is the equivalent with Yellen?

Until there is a salient point to be made about her conflicts of interest, doesn't it make sense to give her the benefit of the doubt?

I didn't have an iPhone when I first bought AirPods. They are the best for working out at the gym, so I went for them, after trying some alternatives.

The phone I used them with first was the Pixel 2. They worked perfectly fine. The only heartburn I had was once I had paired them with my Macbook, the bluetooth connection would prefer the Macbook over the phone, which was sometimes annoying.

Others might be upset at the lack of support for the Google Assistant, but for actually using the headphones, there was nothing better, even on Android.

> The mechanisms of Apple fanboyism work like a religion or a cult

OK buddy. Lemme go find you a soap box. BRB.

You have a good point regarding pollution and repair policy, however you claim they have produced a bunch of crap over the years. Are you saying some of their products haven't been up to snuff? Or everything they produce is crap?

Also, the comment about people refusing to think is a bit obtuse, don't you think? Assuming that people who buy Apple products don't think is a ridiculous claim. At least recognize that those people might have a different calculus for their purchasing choices.

It's nuts how much toxicity there is around Apple.

It's true for the most part. They really do produce good quality products. The markup reflects the branding, true, but that's OK if the products are good.

I wish Apple had a competitor in the US. Google competes with software and phones, but is losing the phone battle hard. Microsoft puts out an operating system that is too busy making sure legacy software from 1995 still runs. All (most) of the hardware "competitors" run Windows and can't compete on the performance side. We need a company that produces their own hardware and operating system that competes with Apple, I think.

This is a strange comment. It starts like you're trying to argue something, but the argument isn't really present.

You're saying "You think the audiophile market is bad? Why complain about that market when there are these other markets that do the same bad stuff?"

What's the point? Does one bad industry ruin them all? Should we not have any?

You're assuming a lot about the person you're talking about.

Some people will probably buy these for the image, some because they work well with Apple products, some because ??. But you don't know what he values or who he is personally. Why be so toxic?

I think the idea in Fuchsia is that directories can be passed as resources to children processes, which can then move freely around in that directory structure. If the parent passes a child "/foo/bar/", the child sees "bar/" and it's contents, which might be "bar/baz/bingo/". The child can then move to "/bar/baz/bingo/" do work there, and then recurse up the hierarchy. It simply cannot ".." out of "foo/".

Hope that makes sense.

Just want to point out - Zircon is their microkernel, while Fuchsia is the operating system on top of Zircon. Both are open source though.

Isn't that the _potential_ to be burned, as opposed to being burned?

To be fair, there are many threats in the world we can all be worried about, but largely ignore in our daily lives, to no meaningful detriment in most cases.
