How are they terrible?

Having used cellphones since the 90s, my experiences with Android/Apple phones have been nothing short of remarkable and to be frank, life changing in terms of day-to-day utility.

Really fascinating project. It sent a chill down my spine as I suddenly recalled being in school, both because of the videos as well as the OS (we used Macs in art/design class). This was before streaming and smartphones were around so the only way we could see what was happening was by going into classrooms with TV's hooked up. I don't think we had access to CNN but we probably watched some American channel. I felt like the world was going to enter a third World War, what with the immediate connection to Pearl Harbor. It was impossible to continue doing school work that day.

> This is how the real world works - try applying to jobs with a beautiful resume.

Not in my experience. I got interviewed at top tech companies and joined a well-respected one after submitting a 'beautiful' resume which I really only spent a few hours designing. One of the tech interviewers thanked me for putting the time and effort into it, especially not trying to fill the entire page with as many bullet points as possible. A good design can't make up for a lack of experience in a field, but I don't think it's nearly as detrimental as you're making it to be.

The delivery was very engaging and a good example to other engineers on how crafting a compelling narrative can help drive home the importance of your work.

How does anyone expect food delivery services to survive with only 5% fees? That's insanity. Uber has to also pay for engineers, sales/marketing to get customers/restaurants onto the platform, online infrastructure, customer service for both sides of the market, etc.

Delivery is expensive. It's time-consuming, and customers are rarely willing to pay the true cost of it.

Most of the restaurant delivery services were bleeding hundreds of millions of dollars last year. They've had a resurgence because of the Covid-19 but that's a blip compared to a normal situation.

If people think it doesn't cost that much money to operate, then all restaurants shouldn't have a problem having their own delivery service.

In an ideal scenario, agreed, but very few countries have enough tests to test non-essentials workers or people who are experiencing minor symptoms.

Same. I use Linux (specifically Ubuntu) on my work/study computer and I love it.

But, weird hardware issues popped up now and then which I didn't have to deal with on my MacBook, such as the wifi card that had to be manually installed, the headphone jack sometimes doing weird things, the processors overheating.

I was able to solve those problems by searching online and finding others who had the same issue which lead to instructions to fix the problem, but I just can't imagine my family members who have never used the Terminal in their entire life having the same success.

The fact is that with my old MacBooks (and the computers I've given to my family) the only hardware related issue we've had over the last 10+ years is the battery related issues from the MBP.
