Oh damn, I did not know about that trend. Yeah, Google has dropped the ball in so much consumer s*. Messenger, social, etc. Inbox is probably the most exciting thing they have put together in a while, and then killed it lol
Yep, it is a fat client with lousy performance. They tried to build Sketch + Principle in the same tool. Both those tools are super complicated software products. They should have created separate tools which complement each other.
I think this depends on personalities. I worked in an open office where there were people going crazy because there were a bunch of loud extroverts. I am extroverted and cubicles make me develop bad habits like watching YouTube all day, and such. I need constant interaction with people. Ideating with other designers gives me life, and expands my creativity.
