This is ridiculous. Why don't they make AEST time permanent? And if people want to have more light in the DAYTIME, they can just MOVE TO AUSTRALIA. Surely that is easier than PEOPLE BEING ABLE TO SEE MY FACE DURING ZOOM MEETINGS.

Yes, but those bugs won't be caught since the test suite has an implicit dependency on the current US time, so they don't count.

> doing your morning commute in the dark

This really depends on location within the timezone. And some places, e.g. Michigan, are simply in the wrong time zone.

Are you saying that you think the people who pushed this law had no opinion whatsoever on the activity itself, but just wanted black and latino people to suffer through an arbitrary ban?

It seems much more reasonable to guess that neighbors were annoyed by the activity itself and passed a nimby law because they're selfish.

If you really need to read an article, you can just delete the nyt-m and nyt-a cookies then refresh (with trackers disabled).

Teslas cost more (after those tax-breaks and subsidies) in Norway than in California. You're lacing the conversation with a lot of value judgements, but those aren't particularly relevant to the question of whether the people of California or Norway are more able to buy Teslas.

Disposable income seems like the more relevant number here, and in that California is higher ~(48k vs 38k USD, although numbers are a bit stale).
