This exactly the sort of epi-scientific anecdotes that I really appreciate about Nautilus Magazine. In many ways understanding the process of knowledge formation and transmission is more important than the information exchanged. As a general pattern, a lot of great scientists are open to lateral/magical thinking. As the article mentions at its conclusion that Pauli never totally accepted Jung's ideology, but the fact that he was willing to entertain and engage with a mystical world view is perhaps important in understanding creativity.
Also FWIW, some of his dreams are pretty wild and can be found here:

The Jung/Pauli letters are such a delight to read, highly recommended for fans of either (published as “Atom and Archetype”).
Also a fun bit- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pauli_effect

So fun to read about corresponding great minds.
The loss of letters in the modern era (replaced with video calls) will be felt by future historians.

What? There are orders of magnitude more "letters" for future historians to look through. We have email, text, facebook posts, google searches, etc. Backup tapes will be a treasure trove for future historians/etc.

The loss of a viable ecosystem may make that a mute concern.
And the heat death of our sun...
