Would you work full-time on your project if you could pay your bills with it? Would you go part-time?

I personally think that I could choose to go part-time because it could take very long time to gain traction for OSS project.

Sure. I actually did a few years until the money ran out.

An did you try to monetize your project? And if so using which approaches? Donations, dual-licenses, paid support, etc.?

Donations (I was even chosen as beta tester for GitHub sponsors, and flown in), and paid support.

But I had the wrong projects. Andrew Kelley's zig went off, mine not.
