Robots have come for skilled jobs for a long time. Krugman even mentioned how "industrial robots replaced routine assembly-line work". Welding is a skilled job, and there are robot welders where once there were skilled workers.

Instead, this article is about robots taking over the jobs of "knowledge workers", defined as "people engaged in nonrepetitive problem solving."

Just because something is manual work doesn't mean it's not a skilled job.
