I hope so! Thought it was an interesting, funny post, which is why I submitted it. (I don't know the author.)
At this point the formal submission process is designed to filter out applicants.
Author needs to find ways to get introduced to the hiring manager or have someone put his resume in the hiring manager's hands.
He should also consider remixing the skills and accomplishments he has in his "box of LEGOs" and exploring other possible careers that would leverage his talents and experience.
Edit: My mistake not reading more of his older posts, looks like he has started on Plan B https://mattplotecher.substack.com/p/you-forgot-one-ben-fran...

One hundred is really impressive ! The last and only time I had to do that, I got not only mentally but also physically sick after like a dozen of tailored CVs + motivation letters. (Which then also quickly resulted in me giving up the job I did get, so it was a net loss - though doing that during Covid of course didn't help.)
I got the message : I'm never searching (in this way) for a job, ever again. (Of course I might reconsider once/if I'm homeless, but probably not before that.)

I went through this in 2000 during the first dotcom bust. I believe I sent out over 200 resumes. Ended up learning to program properly as part of it, building a CRM job submission manager that tracked who I submitted to and reminded me to follow up. Didn't end up getting me a job but it taught me to program and my career has been awesome ever since.
I don't really remember my first 100, but I do my first 500. The 500 mark was very depressing.
This was a really entertaining read. Wishing the author the best of luck.

Having a blog on the front page (coupled with the value that he can bring) should at least give him a few warm leads for job opportunities.
