Ask HN: Would you want a direct, permission-based connection with brands?

Ah, what a novel idea: extract data from users to figure how to better fleece them ..ahem "offer better services". Isn't this the main reason for intrenet?
Not as described. But I would appreciate a connection with certain brands that have helped me solve a problem in the past.
I wish I could go to the same shop and tell them "this was the solution back then, give me the latest iteration".
For example: Moto G phone, Brother laser printer, Gap jeans, Geox cordless shoes. Don't waste any money trying to sell to me, just tell me what you have when I need to replace the previous one.
great to hear! yes the idea is to have a more direct conection to brands/shops so you can know what your really want are arriving and products that you dont, just dont appear every time in every social platform as we are not interested. thanks for the feedback!
Call them "updates" if you want, but that is just semantics. Updates, ads, spam - those are pretty much different words for the same thing. You are asking if we want algorithm-driven marketing pushed at us, and I think the answer to that is a resounding "No!"
noted! haha it may help or not , just listening to all voices
Cool idea!
The idea is to create a direct, permission-based connection between people and brands. Users activate products they already use, an AI learns their preferences, and brands can share relevant updates like launches, collections, or events — without ads or spam.
This is very early (just a validation landing), and I’m trying to understand: - Does this problem resonate with you? - Where would something like this break? - What would make you distrust it?
