My tech stack consists of:
- Ruby on Rails
- Vue.js + Inertia.js
- PostgreSQL
- TailwindCSS with Shadcn Vue UI
the app runs on Hetzner VM deployed via Kamal.
I'm planning to do a detailed blog post on the tech stack soon.
I found initial customers by manual outreach within my network.
I don't see any potential issue with Supabase. Both names are drastically different and we serve different markets. Besides, there are plenty of other products name with "supa" prefix.
I'm building https://supadesk.ai - An AI agent platform to help businesses manage their front-desk.
I launched beta last month with a couple of customers in pilot phase. It has been great learning experiencing building my first AI agent tool and running it in production.
I recently moved a couple of Rails projects to a VPS using Dokploy and couldn't be happier. Apart from the cost savings the bump in available resources is a big plus. It is astonishing how Heroku still gets away with 512 mb memory for $25/m
background: I have been self-hosting apps on VPS for a while now but just started using a tool
Working on https://fileboost.dev –– A Ruby on Rails Active Storage plugin that is a plug and play gem for image transformation without making any code changes.
Being a Ruby on Rails consultant, I frequently see active storage transformation becoming a bottleneck for web servers by eating up resources and making them sweat.
I built Fileboost to solve this problem for my customers. I'd love any feedback.
I have been doing Ruby on Rails for ~14 years but ~10 years ago I was confused and I picked up Nodejs thinking it is the future of software development.
It only took me a couple of months to realized what Ruby on Rails offers & the vibrant ecosystem it has. I quickly pivoted back to it and never looked back. I'm very happy with that decision.
Take that plunge and you will not regret it later.
I have been building https://www.flowboardpro.com - It is an artist management software for agencies. I went full-time on it in April of this year & have been working solo on it since. I have 3 agencies using it which is right now enough to pay off my bills. This month I'm wrapping up all the feature development to focus on the marketing side of it.
