Notably, this is one reason why WoW managed to hit such a wide audience and become so successful. The art design made the game look amazing, but the hardware requirements were so low you could run it on a potato. Its contemporary, Everquest 2, managed to look uglier while being much harder to run.
This is like asking why we need science at all. We might know that obesity is a significant risk factor, but we don't know why and what we could do about it. So yes, it does need explaining. This is a possible explanation and might inspire further research into the topic, in particular preventative or curative treatments.
Funny, I prefer it being spread across 20 pages because then I can jump between the parts that interest me when they interest me, instead of having to load and scroll through the whole thing. It also affects how much detail they can put into the whole page vs individual pages.
WSL1 was one of the coolest things I've ever seen Windows do and I'm so disappointed that it's not being worked on anymore. WSL2 seems like such a massive step backwards by comparison. Sure, it's more performant, but it's just running a VM on a hypervisor. I could've done that with any number of other tools available. WSL1 was unique (afaik).
Things are clearly worse than they used to be, but I still could not use Chrome or Firefox without Vimium. I've tried. It feels unusable without vim keys. And other browsers aren't an option because I use a bunch of addons that have no adequate alternatives. So yeah, I'll keep using Vimium despite the limitations and I legitimately don't understand the complaints directed at Vimium. Blame Mozilla.
I've given up. I disable hibernation and I shutdown my laptop whenever I used to put it to sleep. It's bizarre that standby/hibernation no longer works reliably.
