This is a reoccurring trend with Feedly (taking advantage of content creators while making money off of their content)
Unlike most RSS readers, Feedly refuses to share how many readers a content creator has via their user-agent (the standard method for doing this). When I asked them about this, they simply said to wait for analytics in 2014. https://twitter.com/feedly/status/408797947053101058

I am the author of this article. The wikipedia article on suicide rates (which I am assuming you found via google) uses data from 2009 as its source. I have always wanted to create a widget that would go into a dishwasher and change color after the cycle was completed. This way, you would always know if the dishes were clean :-)
It might work based on heat (drying cycle) or via a reaction with soap.
With regards to the constructive criticism about the date of the article, thank you and I will keep that in mind next time.
I submitted this article because I genuinely thought it was interesting and wanted to share it with like minded tech savvy people. (My real life friends wouldn't really care about this :-p)
I chose to submit this page rather than the newer version ( http://eff.org/issues/printers ) because I found the image of the dots on this webpage very interesting. I figured if people were interested they could click the "For up-to-date" information link. I will save everyone a click next time.

I couldn't agree more. I am frustrated and humbled to see so many intelligent people in this community that I respect be so utterly against SEO. The worst part for me is seeing so many entrepreneurs simply disregard it as an option.
I don't care if you use SEOmoz's products or our competitors, SEO is a legitimate marketing tool and I truly believe it can help everyone here build better businesses.

I will be sure to make it a priority to include sources and methodology in future posts. I didn't include these in the first place because I got the impression that the audience I primarily write for (the community at SEOmoz) doesn't worry about this as much and would rather get to the "meat" of the information. If you read the comments on the post, no one even mentions sources or methodology.
That said, I am always looking for ways to make my posts better and I think acting on your advice will make my work appear more credible and professional. Thank you for your time and feedback!
This is very odd. When I viewed the page (see screenshot taken at 22:56 below) I saw his death added to the article twice, once at 21:46 by editor "fixman" and then again at 21:48 by an anonymous editor.
Update: User Gort pointed out that I was looking at the talk page of the article revision history rather than the revision history itself. Easy mistake to make. Post updated and tail between my legs...
What made you feel it was untrustworthy? I have a huge amount of respect for the Hacker News community (been reading this site everyday for over a year), and I would really appreciate the opportunity to be given constructive criticism.
I had the same thought, its less the entrepreneurs and more the population as a whole. I do think most people are capable of at least trying to start a company. The biggest obstacle that keeps them from "doing anything" is intimidation (of how hard it is) and comfort in their current routine.
I am a big fan of http://omnisio.com/startupschool08 (Jeff Bezos, David Heinemeier Hansson, Mike Arrington, Paul Graham...) I also enjoyed the movie "startup.com". Hope that gives you a place to start :)
